IPL in Bangladesh
After the ICC meeting on 8 February, there was a buzz about the seventh edition of the IPL to be held in Bangladesh. There was a lot of discussion and criticism in the World Cricketer
Bangladeshi cricket boards referred to Bangladesh as a threat to the IPL venue Bannot BPL (Bangladesh Premier League). Later, however, India informed that there will be no match for the IPL in Bangladesh.
But there did not stop there. The name of Bangladesh has again been discussed in the seventh edition of the IPL. Indian media has heard that there are 16 matches to be played in Bangladesh. India's most popular online 'My Anandabazar' and 'IBN Live' said on Monday that Indian cricketers are considering the 16th edition of the seventh edition of IPL in Bangladesh. Although the official statement of the Bangladesh Cricket Board has not been received so far.
Talking to the Indian Cricket Board and the Interior Ministry officials, Anand Bazar has also reported that the Indian Premier League (IPL) will start at the same time, among which India's Lok Sabha elections are held. During the time of security concerns, the country's Interior Ministry is watching the IPL matches as a risk.
That is why they are considering the ceremony in 16 matches in neighboring Bangladesh. South Africa's IPL venue came in 2009 due to the Lok Sabha elections. But to organize matches in Africa is very expensive. In view of this, Bangladesh is a good alternative to them.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already given a proposal to the Indian Home Ministry in this regard. Now, if the proposal is taken by the Interior Ministry, they will give formal proposal to BCB for the upcoming seven IPL matches in Bangladesh. The remaining 44 matches will be played in India.
According to sources, the seventh edition of the IPL may start on April 9. On the other hand, India's Lok Sabha election will start on April 7. It will continue till May 12. Voting for 9.40 million voters in the 80 million and 40 million voters. The country's interior ministry will have to take additional security measures for this. At the same time the security of popular cricket matches like the IPL at the same time is very important to them.
It is learned that all franchise owners told the IPL Governing Council that if there is any match in the IPL at that time then it should be held outside the country for security reasons. From the thought of the name of Bangladesh has come up.
The sources further said that the security of the IPL is not possible when the IPL starts at the time of pre-audited time. In fact, the Indian Home Ministry has already told the franchise owner and BCCI. Alternatively, as per 2009, the seventh edition of the IPL will be moved to South Africa. But in South Africa only 16 matches are not profitable for them.
It is also learned from the published report that 44 to 73 percent of the matches are being held in the country. The rest of the matches are being considered as active in South Africa or not in Bangladesh. However, the owners of the team said that it is not economical to organize 16 matches in South Africa, the BCCI said.
It is learned that in this regard, talk talks about 16 matches in Bangladesh are still going on. However, the central government of India will take a final decision in this regard. It depends on whether the seventh edition of the IPL is going to be Bangladesh.
